Missions
Visual Storytelling With the International Center of Photography
By Cherrie - 4 min read
See who won the Telling Stories Differently Mission – and got exhibited in NYC!
In Telling Stories Differently, photographers of EyeEm were asked to tell a story in a single photograph. We wanted you to communicate a narrative, be it through documentary, street photography, portraiture – or whatever your chosen style! International Center of Photography (ICP) membership was up for grabs – as well as the chance to get exhibited at Hack the Photo in New York.

Eleven photos from nine photographers made the cut. Here they are!
Congratulations ultimate winner

About ICP: The International Center of Photography (ICP) is the world’s leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture. It’s a center where photographers and artists, students and scholars can create and interpret the world of the image. #hackthephoto was a weekend interdisciplinary opportunity for photographers, filmmakers, developers, designers, makers, journalists and visual artists to come together and collaborate on the future of storytelling.

The final selection and winner of the Telling Stories Differently Mission were selected by Photo Director at Mashable, Dustin Drankoski, Photographer and ICP Faculty Anja Hitzenberger, Associate Photo Editor atTime.comand ICP faculty Josh Raab, with the help of ICP New Media Narrative students Mengwen Cao, Evan Cisneros and Susan Sawyers.
The judges selected a compelling image by San Francisco street photographer Ken Walton. The image shows four bathers, standing in waist high water in the rain. Congratulations Ken!
