Hey friends,

the highly anticipated release of the iPhone 5 on Wednesday has brought a bunch of new features for us happy snappers. On the hardware side we’ve got thenew A6 chip deliveringfaster capture of photos, noise reduction and better low-light performance, yielding up to two additional f-stops. But how’s the software side looking? The brand new panorama mode looks quite promising.

We’re excited to show some of the first images shot with the new panorama mode.io analoger got his hands on a rare developer iOS6 version and tested the panorama mode with his iPhone 4S. Here’s what he says:

The panorama mode of iOS6 is directly integrated into the camera, so no need to open up an app for it. It yields great results, even when your hands are a bit shaky after the 5th coffee of the day! Creating a panorama is super easy: there’s an arrow built into the camera that shows you which way to turn and also recognizes your moving speed. The following processing of the pics works very smooth so far and even corrects motion blurs when you’ve been moving too fast.

The quality of these panoramas is quite stunning. Just check out how awesome above’s image looks in full size. We’ve also included a link to the full-re version of each image below.

What do you think of the new iOS 6 panorama mode? Anyone produced panoramas in the same quality with another phone/app?
