On April 23 and 24 a group of shakers and movers met in the very north of Norway to discuss the future of photography. Our contribution: adding thousands of perspectives to the Nordic Light mission to demonstrate the power of connected photography.

About the Unfestival of Photography

As part of the famous Nordic Light festival, which took part for the 8th time in Kristiansund, Norway, the Unfestival of Photography gathered some of the brightest minds from the likes ofNokia, Facebook, EyeEm, Adobe and Appleas well as some phenomenal artists, researchers and business people.

With technology radically shaping the face of photography and more people taking more photos than ever before, the goal of the Unfestival was to sit down and discuss the present & future of image making.

Participants

Over 2 days around 25 people joined the discussion. Some of the participants were Alex & Rebecca Norris Webb (Magnum), Chris Rainier (National Geographic), Hans-Peter Brondmo & Iván Cavero Belaunde (Nokia), Mikkel Aaland, Peter Krogh (ASMP),Nelson Ramírez de Arellano Conde, Rudy Burger (WCP), Severin Matusek (EyeEm), Kate Jordahl, Yury Prilutsky, Knut Koivisto, Oliver Breidenbach (Boinx) and Morten Krogvold (Nordic Light).

EyeEm and the Nordic Light mission

We believe that mobile, connected photography will be the future of photography. So we kicked off the Nordic Light mission to gather thousands of perspectives from people all around the world and show what this new age of taking photos together looks like.

Within 2 weeks more than 2700 photos were submitted by 887 contributors. Out of these the jury at the Unfestival selected 12 to be presented on stage at Nordic Light festival. The selected photos were:
