Name:Ginza aka Anthony Ginns
Occupation:In transit from a career in Graphic Design to Photography/iPhoneography
Location:Sydney, Australia
Age: 50
Food of choice:Japanese & Thai. Sushi rules!
Favorite editing app:KitCam rocks! I cannot emphasise enough how good an app this is! I also use Alt Photo, Lens+, Camera Awesome, Snapseed, Filterstorm, SlowShutter, Mextures, Afterlight, Photo FX Ultra, Blender, CameraBag2 and Photocopier.
Best moment in life so far:It’s a toss up between getting my first Nikon when I was 14 (it was love at first sight…sigh!), living in Italy for a year in 1992! (bellissima) and participating in the Spencer Tunick nude photo shoot at the Sydney Opera House in 2010, with 5,200 other people!
Best advice:Laugh & smile more every day

The funniest moment:I love fossicking at Flea markets & Antique shops, looking for 50s & 60s collectibles. I was in Sydney’s largest Antique & collectibles centre recently, and was so lost in the moment, that I was oblivious to the fact that the centre was closing!
When I made my way upstairs to leave, I was shocked to find the centre had closed & I was locked inside! And to compound matters my iPhone was flat! I had to wait an hour until security came to my rescue & let me out, but not before I did a lot of explaining, as they thought I was a burglar!
Your advice for taking better photos:Be adventurous.Look for a fresh perspective or point of view. Try different angels. Shoot in interesting or unusual locations.Take a strong photo first, before it goes anywhere near an app.
I always put great importance on composition, lighting and exposure. Look for strong graphic elements, be it color, shape, texture and a human figure can add another dimension to a photo.
Whenever I am out & about I always study the light, and observe it’s impact on a scene. So observation is so important to becoming a better photographer.
Plan ahead. Find out what is on in your city, town or county? I go to so many events and when there is a great event, great photo opportunities exist in abundance!
Be patient. Good photos come to those that wait, and patience is a virtue!
