London on a Sunday afternoon: people everywhere, tourists, business men, soft sunbeams glaring through the clouds… and inbetween there’s Vanessa aka Psyca capturing the scenes.

Coming from a small quiet town in Portugal, Vanessa has a knack for the hustle and bustle of big cities and recalls navigating through the British capital like being“a tiny fish swimming in the pacific ocean”. There’s definitely something about her snaps that makes you feel like you walked through London yourself. We’ve asked Vanessa a few questions about her favorite city and are excited to share the ride with you.

Hey Vanessa! Why don’t you tell us a little bit about your trip to London?

It´s a very historical place with so many beautiful things to see but I must say I fell in love with the people. That´s probably where I had the most fun with and photographing people in London is extremely easy, especially workers. They´re so used to being photographed that they just let you get your way. That’s something I´m not used to back home so it was definitely one of the main reasons for this trip. People are so busy running with their lives not really caring about what you´re doing. It gives you a sense of freedom.

The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?

That´s like making me choose between color or black and white photography. It´s impossible for me because it depends on the mood. I would say Beatles to stay home, Stones for party ; )

Tips for shooting in London?

Well, every photographer likes different things so the only advice I can give is walk… Start very early and just walk. It´s a beautiful city with great perspectives. Colors, movement and light will surround you everywhere you go. If you understand and capture the mood of London, great pictures will come out. No need to look for anything, just point and shoot.
