Here’s a recap from Charles Strebor, who organized the meetup:
The first ever EyeEm Darwin Meetup took place on Saturday, 20 Oct 2012 as part of the Darwin Fridge Festival – the World’s Coolest Festival – during our stickiest time of year. We met at 4pm so as to avoid the midday heat and walked around the Darwin Waterfront Precinct shooting each other as well as the various installations that form this part of the festival.
After two hours of shooting fridges in the form of Lego (my favourite), an iced coffee drink and even, yes, a hospital in a fridge, as well as various installations made from recycled materials, we gathered together again to talk about future meetups and headed to a cafe to have a cold brew – or two – for the big people and ice creams for the little people.
The meetup was a small gathering and we hope that the next EyeEm Darwin Meetup will bring in moremobilographers as we promote the images that we shot and the fun that we had as a group.
And special thanks to Charles Strebor (aka Rantz) for organizing the meetup! Looking forward to the next one❤
