What do you do when you get married on a greek island and want your friends from far away be part of it? Capture your trip as LEGO figures! This is precisely what Christian Koeln and his wife did,and the outcome is simply a wonderfully romantic photo story.

From starting the trip in Cologne, Germany, up to the wedding ceremony in Santorini, Greece, the couple photographed their adventure as LEGO figurines and let their friends and relatives be part of it through live-streaming the photos on EyeEm and their blog.

This is what Christian says about their LEGO trip:

For us it was always clear that we do not want a traditional wedding here in Germany, but to travel with some friends to the beautiful island Santorini and getting married there. We knew from the start that not everybody would be able to join us and some friends and family members won’t be there, so we thought about sharing our adventures through a live photo stream.

Using the LEGO figurines to replace us on the pictures resulted as an option to always show both of us on the pictures, instead of one taking the shot while the other was posing. I**t was a lot of fun trying out where to put the LEGO figurines and to see the reaction of the other people around us. You can check out our whole trip in the album Lego Wedding Trip.

Finally arrived at the residence.

Last night before the wedding..

Going for a walk on the island.

Hanging by the pool.

Oh no, the bride almost got eaten by a giraffe!

While the groom investigated the local brews..

But in the end everything turned out just fine.

And the couple lived happily ever after.
