Dream Threader Scratch my insides out, Set my spirit free... Take me from this prison, Let the architect reign in me.. Ride the rippled waves, Of these corrugated dreams... Riddles of realities... Dissolving at the seams... Tell me of this echo, I've heard it once before Of imagined callings ... Crashing upon the shore. Speak to me of truth... Or nothing, No more. The Night Traveller You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place in the family of things. The start of a photograph is from a previous picture. There is no preconception, rather predisposition. I will usually return to a familiar place or one that seems familiar. I stand still or move slowly, feeling things like the impulse of shapes, the direction of lines, the quality of surfaces. I frame with my eye (sometimes with my hands) as the ground glass would frame. Nothing that one could reasonably call thinking is taking place at this stage. The condition is total absorption; the decision (a picture) is spontaneous ... Ambiguity may be the clue, there is the material. and there am I intruding my private intent. Lost, Lonely, & Lethal I could never accept life as it was, i could never gobble down all its poisons but there were parts, tenous magic parts open for the asking. I re formulated I don't know when, date, time, all that but the change occured. something in me relaxed, smoothed out. i no longer had to prove that i was a man, I didn't have to prove anything. ― Charles Bukowski Monochrome WeAreJuxt.com The_mnemonics Shootermag

Of course I constantly despair at my own incapacity, at the impossibility of ever accomplishing anything, of painting a valid, true picture or even knowing what such a thing ought to look like. But then I always have the hope that, if I persevere, it might one day happen. And this hope is nurtured every time something appears, a scattered, partial, initial hint of something which reminds me of what I long for, or which conveys a hint of it – although often enough I have been fooled by a momentary glimpse that then vanishes, leaving behind only the usual thing. In No Great Hurry | II I'm a person who likes to postpone things. I see no reason for being in a rush. When you consider many of the things that people treat very seriously, and you realise that they dont deserve to be treated that seriously. And many of the things that people worry about are not really worth worrying about. Saul Leiter (3 Dec 1923 – 26 Nov 2013) Keep It Blurry WeAreJuxt.com Painting With Light In No Great Hurry
