Check this out EyeEm Nature Lover Oak trees like corn are pollinated by the wind not insects. So when we have an unusually wet spring the trees don't get pollinated & we have no acorns! The squirrels always seem to know & they migrate away. I picked these up from the ground. The squirrels don't care to eat the acorns green, so they chew them off & wait for them to turn brown. These are from a young healthy Pin Oak Tree. THERE ARE PRACTICLY NO ACORNS THIS YEAR! — in Overland, United States
