Through the Lens: The Pressures of Modern Life

“You can really only enjoy life when you’re extremely busy.”

Josephine de La Baume

Nearly 100 years ago in 1930, British economist John Maynard Keynes predicted that the average working week would be dramatically cut to 15 hours a week. He thought that with the advance of technology and machines doing most of the work, people would instead be spending most of their time enjoying themselves. Well, he was right about technology improving, and that probably people would prefer to have more leisure time, but truth is, modern life is BUSY.

Our recent photo mission, Under Pressure was all about capturing scenes which embody the busyness and pressure of modern life. We’re delighted to announce that urban poetry, paolo and namari all have won a framed print of their images. Well done!
