Donnington Castle

Donnington Castle was a fashionable fortified residence of the fourteenth century. The striking twin-towered gatehouse was built in the 1380s for Sir Richard de Adderbury, a knight in the service of the Black Prince. The castle was badly damaged during a twenty month siege in the Civil War. Medieval Castle Summer Countryside Walks
