Tradition of inviting in Southern India. An invitation to a wedding ceremony is given by patents of the bride/groom by visiting personally the house of invitee. The card placed on both palms of a parent is given away to both palms of the invitee. Termeric and kumkum smeared cards are distributed at minimum along with some signs of auspiciousness and prosperity as seen here with bananas and beetle leaves n nuts.
