Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur

Breaking fast at PetalingStreet (fondly known to locals as Cheecheongkai since yesteryear. The term Chinatown is just for the sake of tourism.) A local here commented that most of the Chinese community has left the area. Vibe isn't as it was since then. Hubby who spent most of his childhood days at his paternal grandparents' medical hall on Chee Cheong Kai missed the vibrancy of this place. Misses the hidey holes at his grandpa's shop is all torn down now. Lots of hawker stalls are now run or assisted by foreign workers, mostly Myanmarese who speaks excellent Cantonese, Mandarin & Malay. {Envy them for that language proficiency..πŸ˜€}. According to hubby, there are still some old stalls operating and some has expanded. This trip to KL is hubby's trip down memory lane..... Anjackl2016
