PORTRAIT FOR THE DAY Featured here is Passang Sherpa, one of the very honest people I met in Gangtok. The story starts when I was in Sikkim with my group. We had paid a visit to Tashi View Point. Sherpa and his wife have a small garment shop with some Sikkimese attires which they give for rent at Rs. 50 and one can try these costumes there itself and click photographs with Kanchenjunga view as the backdrop. My friend also tried one. We spoke to them about Sikkim and their cultures. We spent around 30 minutes there and left for Gangtok unknowingly eaving my friend's wallet at the shop which had more than Rs. 10000, credit and debit cards 🎴 and some ID proofs. When we realised this we had already covered 10 kilometres and it was raining β˜” heavily. Luckily we had taken Sherpa's mobile number and I called and informed him. But they had already left from the point because of the heavy rain. We U-turned our car πŸš— and our superman driver reached us back to Tashi View Point within minutes. When we reached there we saw Sherpa and his wife waiting for us near the point. They handed over the wallet to my friend with everything safely inside. They didn't accept any reward we offered them. SUCH HONEST PEOPLE. I SALUTE THEM. Thank you Sherpa Uncle and Aunty. God Bless!
