an imposing building, complete with an occulus. The fret work and the dressing draw the eye, but I left the flag pole and the building site for contrast

interesting that they chose such a wonderous effect. i can imagine a very divided community. Those who wished the library to stay as the old bastion of learning and silence v those who wanted a place more visually and cereberally challenging...

Hi Kaaren, yes, it's almost an old style campus with a debating auditorium underground but open to the air and the public (just as it should be). It is a powerful structure, and in direct contrast to the 1930 Art Deco Baskerville house next door. I'm really glad they were brave enough to build
