...been fiddling around with this for a while, so I'm glad you like it :)...I thought the first one was on the verge of kitsch but suddenly seemed to work in the context...and if one sqeezes the eyes a bit...

funny, for me flowers in art always refer to kitsch, maybe cause the culture I've grown in, where plants hardly ever were dramatic or subtle :) also being on the verge of kitsch I perceive as playing with convention which requires aesthetic fluency and perspective... and your flowers, if aren't predacious, like this one, are always hiding something. smart combination of somber mood with the innocent object and that's why - for me - it's so intense :)

your feedback is always so profound and stimulating Magda :). it's interesting how the play with convention always demands a certain cultural/ educational background of the viewer... well, the picture should be able to stand on its own but to add another layer is good fun sometimes..I quite like subtitles but was wondering who understood the reference to Jodorowsky in Agnes Spaaks cardplayer pic recently... and who sees the connection of my chestnuttree and Bodhidharma... not really important but it would add another dimension somehow....your use of "predacious" is cool in the context and I really liked "obvious" a while ago... :). how was Sally Mann ?

Such the allusions are highly clubby. I know good which Agnes' picture you're talking about without even checking, cause I remember an impression it made on me. But I didn't know Jodorovsky, so I cannot get from this creation as much as author's giving to the spectators :) Now it's a kind of rebus I have to work out. THIS is stimulating ;) And Sally… I've got my head totally in the other world now and couldn't have gone to the opening. I'll surely go in July - that's even quite exciting walking around, knowing it's so close… :)

... yes- no great effect of insider jokes without insiders...I wish you good luck in the other world, same with me actually but coming a bit too heavy at the moment...I like your last sentence... :)
