Instagram or Eye'em... what's your take? Different things...?!? I don't really know where to invest time anymore...

Hi Daniel. to be honest to you my friend, i do not invest time in none of them anymore. i prefer to invest time producing. that is what matters. the pics you see either here or on IG are pics that just follow my ideas about Photography but is not definitely my official work. I work levels, plans, phisics, sciences, surrealism, etc...I see already people changing their composition includind levels everywhere. pics of people leaving the composition like the series i launched months ago and street photographers capturing people in different directions, etc...I dont care that much as what matters is not to be popular but recognized by marchands, galleries and himself. an artist creates because he needs to create and do the best to live of his art only independent of other job. I cannot show here everything i do. there are the copyright issue that is still not clear fir me. it seems FB and IG managed to get ownership of the images you upload. also some works take me days to finish. I have my portifolio with pics that are not uploaded also drawing, sculpture, instalations projects, etc. We are 50 milion igers at the moment. i can assure you they will copy your composition. today, for example, i spent the whole day drawing an instalation to be used in Photography instead of looking for captures to upload on IG that will bring me nothing. so no time to keep two profiles plus a portifolio with different pics. in the end of the day, what worth is to see your work of art in a gallery. IG and EE is good for connections and to see which way the mobile photography is taken. I have been meeting some cool people so i will keep my profile. but would love to find a group that follows similar ideas about arts, etc...big hug man

I appreciate those honest words, Andre...! things change, and my approach to 'sharing' my images has changed a lot in the past weeks. I shoot more for myself - there are tons of images in my cameraroll that I could, but don't want to post, because I'm not sure what the value of likes and generic comments really is. That being said, I don't want nor need to live of my photography, it's something that's very personal... It took some time to learn this, and I'm not sorry for the time I spent on these networks... but it almost feels like I moved on. Still, from time to time I post a shot, but there's no need for recognition or praise anymore... feels good.

you right Daniel. sometimes what we need is just to make art for ourselves. i see so many friends painting for themseves. it is like to play piano, there is no need to be professional. we can make things as a hobby or professionally. I can assure you the likes means nothing when it comes to the arts market. there are as many speculation in this area as in any other ones. the point is that if you feel like being an artist, you will produce anyway simply because you need. it is part of your soul. i remember when i was a child grabing peaces of wood and metal and doing sculptures. it was my unconscious telling me to make it. so, what can i do? i just love it. if you will put it for sales, it is another story. I might leave these social networks, not definitely but I will slow down. as you said, most of people are interested in likes then using an amazing social network for experimenting new kinds of technology for arts. these likes dont add any value to your production what is the most important. sorry for my long message. tks man.

@AndrePinto : Just tuned into your conversation with @agentkramer ... good dialogue and very common to what I have chatted about, believe in as well.
