Search Infrastructure Engineer

EyeEm is searching for a Software Engineer to join our backend team and help us build out our search and recommendation infrastructure. Search and Discovery are at the center of our product, and you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the algorithms that make the beautiful EyeEm experience.

Requirements

  • Understanding of the internal implementation of Lucene and related technologies.
  • Fluency with at least one scripting language such as Python or PHP
  • Ability to implement basic data transformations into appropriately indexable document formats
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Previous experience with search infrastructure a plus

Data Scientist

EyeEm is seeking an experienced analyst to help our product team analyze data and generate data-based insights to drive product decisions. Applicants should have a strong quantitative background, like working independently in a fast paced environment on multiple projects at a time, analyzing large multi-dimensional datasets.

Requirements

  • strong SQL and/or scripting skills
  • Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
  • Comfortable using packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS or Stata preferred
  • Excellent statistical and data analysis skills (e.g. significance testing, regression modeling, etc.)
  • General knowledge of digital advertising and software technology is a plus
